Ron Evans Enterprises started in 1973 as a home based business on Franklin Valley Road in rural Jackson County and has become a multi-faceted organization located three miles south of Jackson on State Route 93.

The evolution from a family farm to a successful sole-proprietorship business began with neighbors' requests to pump their septic tanks with a pumper used in the Evans hog farming operation. Requests for pumping increased rapidly as did requests to correct or repair problems with septic systems. The beginning of the most successful wastewater treatment business in southeastern Ohio had taken root.

A used backhoe was purchased at an auction of a local contractor's business in 1974. Within a year, the business was supporting eight employees and growing every month. The first new backhoe and lowboy trailer was purchased in 1975, and the first new commercial pumper truckwas purchased in 1978.

The acquisition of 30 acres of hillside farm land in 1979 enabled the business to expand into a retail supplier of drainage materials in addition to the full line of septic system items. The high visibility and easily accessable location of the current operation permitted the sale of metal and plasic culverts, stock watering bowls, catch basins, drainage pipes, water lines, etc. to become a major part of the Evans business plan. Individuals and contractors know they can take it with them or have it delivered from one of the largest and diverse inventories in the area.

Still known as the premier installer of wastewater treatment systems in southeastern Ohio, the diversification into other areas has permitted Ron Evans Enterprises to expand to 24 employees, 3 backhoes, 4 dump trucks, 2 pumper trucks, a dozer, and a fleet of service trucks. The company is prepared to react quickly to most any type of septic, drainage, or construction project.

Mr. Evans continues to be a firm believer in continuing education for his employees so that the company can be current with the latest in technology and construction practices. The technicians and other employees are factory trained and experienced so that the repairs and services provided are correct the first time.
